Raiders of the Endless Sea and Bestiary!

We have unlocked the Raiders of the Endless Sea motif and are very close to the Psionic Bestiary stretch goal! This marks two motifs we'll be adding to the book with additional character options and GM tools. We have more planned - like the next stretch goal of the Dreamwalkers motif!  

For the Bestiary, all backers at $15 or higher will get the PDF of the Bestiary. If you're at the $10 tier, you can now change to the $15 tier which includes the PDF of the Psionics Guide and the Bestiary. If you are at the $50 or higher tiers and would like to get a print copy of the Bestiary, you have three choices: softcover, standard hardcover, and premium hardcover.  

• $25 - Softcover color Bestiary  
• $35 - Hardcover standard print Bestiary  
• $50 - Hardcover premium print Bestiary  

Simply increase your pledge by the amount of the print book you'd like and we'll get you a copy of the Bestiary once it's ready.

For US-based backers, there is no additional shipping charge involved, even if we have to split the shipments because the Psionics Guide is ready before the Bestiary.   

For International-based backers, you will have two options when we send out the surveys - to delay the shipment until both books are ready or to pay additional shipping charges based upon the shipping cost to your country. Because the international shipping rate can vary so much depending on the country, we're not taking payment for it now for the extra book.  

Although we haven't quite reached the Bestiary stretch goal, with as close as we are right now, we figured it was better to get this sorted out sooner, rather than later.

Iconic Rewards!

With over 200 backers, we have opened the limited availability Iconic Reward tiers. Each of the four psionic classes has one reward available to submit an iconic character. This character will be illustrated in the book as one of the iconic individuals for the different psionic classes!

We are also nearing the next stretch goal - the Raiders of the Endless Sea motif! After that comes the Psionic Bestiary! 

I am traveling unexpectedly due to a death in the family, so I may have limited ability to respond until later in the week, but I will do my best to check in each day for any questions or items that need to be addressed.

Character Sheets and New Stretch Goals!

What a first four days! We have reached funding, unlocked the Children of the Void, the Psionic Character Sheets, and the Mobile Device Wallpapers! And we’re heading toward unlocking the Raiders of the Endless Sea and Iconic Character Art Rewards! 

In this update, there are a few things to cover: new stretch goals, how the Bestiary reward will work, print options and information, and new playtest info! 

New Stretch Goals 

If you haven’t noticed (since some of you already did!), we have revealed new stretch goals! At $12,000, we will add the Raiders of the Endless Sea motif to the book. This motif will add new character options and GM tools to the book. At $14,000, we will add the Athanatism psionic discipline to the book. If you’re not familiar with Psionics Augmented: Seventh Path from our Pathfinder books, Athanatism deals with the psionic art of manipulating souls and spirits. 

There's a clickable version of this image on the main page to see it in more detail. We have lots more planned for stretch goals, and with over 25 days left to go, we have lots of time to get there as long as we continue to get the word out! 

The Bestiary 

There’s been a bit of confusion on who the Bestiary will work when we reach $10,000. For anyone pledging at least $15, you will automatically get the pdf of the Bestiary. If you’re at the $10 tier, we’ll be adding a $15 tier that will include the Psionics Guide PDF and the Bestiary PDF. 

There have been questions about print options for the Bestiary. We are working through pricing out the print options on the Bestiary. Once we have those, and once we unlock the Bestiary reward, we will add those as additional Add-Ons for anyone at $50 or higher. In our past Kickstarters, adding additional print books caused some logistical problems with shipping – either we had to delay shipments or pay for extra shipping costs. We’re also working through how that will work to minimize those problems. 

New Playtest Info 

We’ve released a new small playtest document that includes three new psionic themes (of the Ace Pilot type theme). You can find that document here

 Print Options and Information 

There have been several questions about the different print options, so I will try to answer as best as I can. Currently, we will be using DriveThruRPG and Lightning Source for our hardcover printing. While we are working through pricing a print run through a traditional offset printer, the volume of print books that are generally required to make an offset print run viable makes it hard for us to get all the other costs associated with producing the book sorted AND the print costs. Right now, our artwork costs, author costs, print-on-demand costs, and shipping costs don’t leave the margin left to do a large scale print run. 

This means that all books will be printed as print-on-demand. The Premium books are printed using higher-quality printing facilities. The colors will be deeper and more vibrant. But the binding between Premium and Standard is done the same. I’ve taken some pictures of bindings on a Standard hardcover book and a Premium hardcover book to give a visual representation. Since I had to go with the print options I had on hand, the Premium is a sample book provided by Lightning Source and the Standard is a copy of Ultimate Psionics also from Lightning Source.

That's it for now! We're working on getting the Psion class and all its supporting material (particularly the powers) into the public playtesting! And art orders are going out based on what our funding level currently is!

Funding Achieved, On To Stretch Goals!

In just a hair over 24 hours, you all have helped us reach our funding goal! Thank you so very much! The entire team is excited about the progress, especially because it brings us to the next big topic: stretch goals!

We have expanded the list of stretch goals defined in the project up to $10,000 in funding. The first stretch goal is the Children of the Void. This set of character options and GM tools will deal with the concept of the void and how psionics can interact with it.

The second stretch goal is psionic character sheets as a PDF download for ALL backers.

The newly unveiled stretch goals are the Raiders of the Endless Sea and a psionic Bestiary! 

In addition, we have added some bonus perks if we hit a certain number of backers. If we get at least 150 backers for the project, we will provide all backers wallpaper downloads for mobile devices. So be sure to spread the word!

There are some outstanding questions we need to respond to - please be assured we'll get to all of them as quickly as possible!
