Artwork Update!

We have a batch of artwork done! These are the final pieces of the sketches from before - with some changes made.

As you can see from the images below, each race will be getting two images. This goes along with the stretch goals that added more artwork. Previously, it would have only been one image per race. 

More artwork is in progress, including elan, duergar, and dromite racial art!

We're also continuing work on the playtest material - more on that as soon as it's ready!

Surveys

If you haven't noticed, surveys have been sent out via email from BackerKit. If you haven't received it, check your spam or marketing folders. If you still can't find it or have trouble with it, let me know! This is our first time using BackerKit, but so far, everything looks to be going smoothly. Over 500 of you have already filled out your surveys - thank you! And we've also had some additional backers who missed out on the Kickstarter.

You should not have to pay anything extra if you do not want to upgrade or add anything to your initial pledge. But if you want to upgrade, say from PDFs to Print or add extra copies of the books, you can do that through the survey. We will not be locking in those orders until probably August, so you will not be charged immediately. I believe BackerKit will validate your payment method, but not charge you yet.

Stretch Goals

Which brings me to the topic of stretch goal - the additional funds so far from backerkit pledges has added enough for the Lost Children stretch goal! We're discussing additional stretch goals, since supplemental funds from BackerKit were significantly higher than we expected - certainly a good problem to have! We also have to reconcile those funds with the dropped pledges from Kickstarter (around $600-700 in pledges that did not process) to figure out the total amount of funds.

Sketches

Last but not least, we have several sketches in from the racial art lineup. These are just the initial sketches and the artist (Joe Shawcross) is working on some changes and then fleshing them out. Each race will be getting two images for the Races chapter. Once final images are ready, we'll share those, as well!

Next Steps

We've finished the Kickstarter campaign! This has been absolutely amazing - thank you all so much for your support. We could not have done it without you. 

So, what's next? Kickstarter will be processing payments over the next week and then sending us the funds about a week after that. Our development team is already working on the content for the new motifs - once playtests are ready, we'll be showing that to everyone for feedback.  

As mentioned in the previous email, art orders have already started - and we have a LOT of art orders to sort out. For backers at the $250 and $500 tiers, I'll be reaching out to you if I haven't already to go over the details of your character concept. I know we had a couple last-minute grabs for iconics.  

Questions on Adding More Stuff  

A few people have mentioned that they didn't get a chance to increase their pledge for extra items. The BackerKit survey will allow you to do that, so don't fret! We'll be sending that out in the next two weeks.  

However, when you make your selections, if you're choosing extra stuff, we won't be locking that down and charging you until later. This is because we want to allow people who missed the Kickstarter a chance to join in and that will help us with figuring how how many books to order to get the best volume discounts we can.  

When Will The Book Be Released  

Our estimated release date for the PDF is November. With the big bump in art orders (16 extra iconics, full-page pieces, motifs...), we'll do our best not to push that back.  

Since the Bestiary was a stretch goal, work has only just begun on it. We'll be putting together the creatures and the art orders to get everything going, but our first priority is going to be the Psionics Guide.  

What About The Psionic Ships Book  

The last stretch goal unlocked was the Strangers' Armada supplement. This will be a separate PDF and softcover book. The PDF will be distributed just like all other PDFs and everyone at $10 and up will get it. The print book will be available for purchase once we get it finished and proof prints done.

What a finale! Thank you so much everyone! We hit all the stretch goals to 30k, and all the backer bonuses!

Now comes the real work - getting everything ready. We have six motifs to design, a whole Bestiary to flesh out, and thanks to the flood of pledges in the final two days, a bonus supplement on psionics and spaceships and an artwork book!

We're putting together all the art orders we're going to need and I'll be sharing those as they come in. In fact, I already have another piece of art to show off! Here is the iconic Specialist. The iconic specialist, Terrarium ("Tarry") of Ripkeel Orbital, is of the Astreidi race. If you want to read up on the Astreidi race, you can find it in our first playtest packet. If you want to read more on the Specialist, you can find it in our second playtest packet.

Lots, lots more to come as work gets done!

The Last Day!

It's been pretty wild here for the past couple of days!

We've knocked down stretch goal after stretch goal, backer goal after backer goal, and we still have the rest of the day and some of the morning.

This project is now our second most-funded and our most backers ever for a Kickstarter! Thank you so much for helping us make this book even better than we'd hoped.

There's still time to knock out more goals - the Bringers of Peace are at 28000 and we'll make an artwork PDF book if we hit 700 backers! Social media like Facebook and Twitter has been a huge part of why we were able to be so successful - thank you for your help. Please continue to spread the word as we run through the final hours!
